Adoptions of Special Needs Children

Minnesota has a long history of opening our hearts and homes to Children who through their special needs may provide a challenge for parents. These kids often have been through the social welfare system, the court system and may have been neglected or abused. There are currently about 600 kids in this situation looking for permanent homes in Minnesota alone. Walling, Berg & Debele has for many years helped create families for these needy children.

Anyone who is interested in exploring this kind of opportunity should either contact the local county department of Human Service or one of the great Adoption Agencies in Minnesota that deal with these great kids. Agencies such as Children's Home Society and Family Services, Lutheran Social Services, or Hope International are all involved in working with helping find "forever families."

Also there are various cost and expense incentives in these situations. In most cases there is no charge for the Homestudy preparation as it is paid by the State. There are also Tax deductions and Credits available for any costs actually incurred. Lastly there is Adoption Assistance or Subsidy assistance available to help families with ongoing costs related to the unique needs of these great kids. (See the specific more detailed discussion of Subsidy issues located elsewhere on the WB&D website)

Walling, Berg & Debele are committed to helping create families of all kinds and with a specific interest in providing the necessary expertise to build "forever families" for all children. Please call us with questions or if we can be of any assistance with any issue.
